A kitten, a cute girl, and a long-buried secret test the friendship of three teenage boys as they journey through adolescence in a small country town.

Working collaboratively with writer/director Iain Appleyard to lockdown the look of His Father’s Son, paid dividends for this award-winning short film.

Working closely with the Production Designer, maintaining a strong focus on meeting the 80’s look of the film, paired with getting every ounce of quality out of the Sony FS7 made for a stunning looking film.

Leica vintage lenses and heavy in-camera filtration also added a sense of historic beauty to this period drama. Shooting 4K Raw also gave plenty of room to tweak and colour in post-production, with the 12-bit footage a joy to work with in the grade. A lovely looking image, which resulted in cinematography awards for this particular piece.
